Arsenal were the victors in a high-scoring North London derby, after an emotionally and physically tough week for Spurs. Losing the derby is always painful but Spurs have the resilience to come back strong with a big six points up for grabs this week.
Liverpool made it 21 games unbeaten in the Merseyside Derby thanks to a last-gasp, freak goal from Divock Origi. The goal sent Jurgen Klopp on a 40-yard sprint where he met Allison. It was a crushing way to lose for Everton, while Liverpool stay within touching distance of the league leaders.
Southampton have sacked Mark Hughes after a sluggish start to the season saw Saints win just one of their opening 14 games in the Premier League. Hughes took over late last season to help the club avoid the drop and reach an FA Cup semi-final, but the side are one point above bottom as we approach the half-way point this term.
Claude Puel compared England U21 midfielder James Maddison to Glenn Hoddle after his superb strike for Leicester against Watford.
