Ledley King's Talking Points

Pressure on Jose Mourinho was mounting after four games without a win in all competitions, but Alexis Sanchez’s injury time header completed a stunning comeback for Man United after going two goals down to Newcastle. It’s a lifeline for Mourinho, whose days in Manchester have been looking numbered after the club's worst ever start to a PL season.

Riyad Mahrez wasted a golden chance to help Man City go two points clear at the top of the Premier League, when he sent his 85th-minute penalty high over the bar at Anfield. City are still top of the table on goal difference, and remain unbeaten after eight games, as do Liverpool.

Chelsea breezed past Southampton with goals from Hazard, Morata, and a first in a Blues shirt for Ross Barkley. Shouts of ‘Ole’ could be heard from the away end as Chelsea passed the ball around in the lead up to the third goal. “It is my favourite goal at Chelsea because I can see my football in this,” said Sarri.

After losing to Man City and Chelsea at the start of the season, Arsenal have now won six in a row after their 5-1 trouncing of Fulham. Questions still remain about Arsenal's ability to get results against the PL’s top sides, with their next big test being a clash with Liverpool in early November.

Ipswich earned their first win of the season with a 3-2 over Swansea at the Liberty Stadium. It looked like the Swans had salvaged a point when they equalised in the 79th minute, but Chalobah grabbed a winner for the Tractor Boys five minutes later.

Sheffield United ended the weekend at the top of the Championship after their 1-0 victory over Hull, who slumped to the bottom of the pile. The Blades have now won four in a row, leapfrogging Leeds who could only muster a point against Brentford on Friday night. The Blades are now joint-second favourites to earn promotion to the PL.

Tranmere and Morecambe were involved in a seven-goal thriller in League Two on Saturday, with Harvey Gilmour hitting an 89th-minute winner to tip the balance in favour of Rovers. The game ended with more drama as Tranmere goalkeeping coach was shown a red card following a fracas involving both sets of players.
