7 Talking Points

Harry Kane netted his 100th Premier League goal in a thrilling game at Anfield that ended with a hurricane of drama involving the main man himself. He missed his first penalty and the opportunity to take the lead in the 87th-minute before Mo Salah gave Liverpool the lead in the 91st minute after a Messi-esque run. But Kane slotted home his second penalty in the 95th minute to split the points.

Bournemouth are now on the 2nd longest unbeaten streak of any Premier League side (only Spurs are on a longer run) after their 2-1 victory over Stoke City extended their run to seven games. It’s a club record for Eddie Howe’s men who are now 9th in the table, while Paul Lambert’s Stoke drop back into the relegation zone.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang marked his Arsenal debut with a goal in the Gunners’ 5-1 romp over Everton. Fellow new boy Mkhitaryan set him up, while Aaron Ramsey scored his first hat-trick for the club. It was a much-improved performance from their midweek loss to Swansea, but Wenger’s side have not kept a clean-sheet in eight Premier League matches.

Huddersfield suffered their fifth straight defeat to drop into the relegation zone, as the bottom half of the table tightens up. There’s now just three points separating 11th place Watford and 19th place Huddersfield. Upcoming games against fellow strugglers West Brom, Swansea, Crystal Palace and Newcastle will be key to David Wagner’s survival hopes.

Leeds United have sacked Thomas Christiansen after their 4-1 defeat to Cardiff on Saturday. Leeds have failed to win since Boxing Day, and after a promising start to the season, now sit in 10th place, seven points outside the playoffs. They are now looking for their seventh manager since 2014.

Derby County have now gone 11 games unbeaten in the Championship for the first time since 1995/96, when manager Gary Rowett was in the side that earned promotion to the Premier League. Tom Huddlestone made the score sheet for the Rams, his first goal for the club more than 14 years after he made his debut.

Aston Villa recorded their sixth successive league win for the first time since 1990 with a 3-2 victory over Burton Albion. It was a nervy finish for Villa with Burton pulling one back in the 92nd-minute, but Steve Bruce’s side took all the points and trail 2nd place Derby by just one point. Meanwhile Burton Albion are three points from safety at the foot of the Championship.

Ledley's Legends

The Legends scored a (usually) impressive 90 points this week, but finished outside the top 30 in the team competition in a high scoring week that saw 59 players grab a full-house and a further 407 manage six correct predictions.
