Matchweek 21 Roundup: Revivals, Late Winners, and First Career Goals

Storm Ciara toppled trees, blew down fences, canceled trains and caused havoc at 7OTB, where 90% of players selected Man City as their banker. With City's matched postponed, all of those players earned two points but no chance of a full house.

But one player did manage to predict all seven of his selections correctly, and Mickypools was the player of the week with 27 Points, so £100 is going their way.

In the first week of four in a new round for the £700 team prize, The Jack and Dannys were the top team with 103 Points. Only time will tell if that will be enough to take the next £700 cash prize, with 3 more weeks to go.

Ledley King scored 19 points this time.

Ledley King's Talking Points

John Lundstram’s late goal against Bournemouth moved Sheffield United up to fifth in the Premier League, and to within two points of Chelsea who sit in the final Champions League spot. The Blades are on track to take a spectacularly high finish in their first season back in the Premier League.

Everton were in the relegation zone in early December when Marco Silva was dismissed as manager. Today the Toffees are 7th and fighting for a European space after a revival under Duncan Ferguson and Carlo Ancelotti, with Crystal Palace being the latest side to leave Goodison Park without any points.

West Brom moved four points clear at the top of the Championship after a 2-0 win over Millwall at The Den. Dara O’Shea scored his first-ever professional goal to seal victory for the baggies.

Aleksandar Mitrovic scored the only goal in Fulham’s win over Blackburn. It took his tally to 20 league goals for the first time in his career, and the Cottagers have now only lost one of their past nine Championship matches.

Nottingham Forest struck another blow to Leeds’ promotion hopes with a 2-0 win at the City Ground. The result extended a miserable run of form for Leeds, who have now won just two games since December 10th, when they had an 11 point cushion over Fulham, who are now level on points.

Ollie Watkins scored a late winner for Brentford against Middlesbrough to help the Bees move to within two points of automatic promotion in the tightening Championship promotion battle. Meanwhile Middlesbrough are just 7 points clear of the relegation zone after the 3-2 defeat.

Sunderland leapfrogged Ipswich into the League One playoffs after Chris Maguire’s 11th goal of the season. Ipswich have now lost three in a row, while the Black Cats have won five of their previous seven.
