Weekly Draw Predictions: Matchweek 14

Draw Predictions

Wilfried Zaha earned Crystal Palace their first draw of the season last Saturday, with his 97th minute equaliser against West Ham. The Hammers have now drawn two of their last three Premier League games, and they would no doubt take another this weekend as Liverpool visit the Olympic Stadium.

Chelsea have only drawn the one game so far this season, their 10 men holding on for a 0-0 draw with Arsenal back in September. Chelsea host last season’s draw specialists Man United this Sunday, and could close the gap to just one point with victory over Mourinho’s side.

Sheffield United, Ipswich and Nottingham Forest have zero draws between them in the Championship, while Brentford, Sunderland and Fulham have all drawn seven games each. Will that change this weekend?

This Week’s Draw Predictions

Huddersfield vs West Brom

Tony Pulis will be searching for his first win in eight games on Saturday, but the John Smiths Stadium might not be the place to find it. Huddersfield have made a relatively impressive start to their first ever Premier League campaign, only conceding 13 goals so far (seven of those against Spurs and Liverpool) and have generally looked solid at the back at home. Meanwhile the Baggies have only scored three goals away from home, so a low scoring draw could be on the menu.

Chelsea vs Man Utd

Two heavyweights go head-to-head on Sunday, and Mourinho will no doubt be parking the bus at his former home. United have made a habit of keeping games tight and trying to force a mistake under Jose, and they have only won once at Stamford Bridge since 2002 – and that was against nine men. Mourinho will probably set up for a draw, and he’s likely to get it.

Birmingham vs Barnsley

Birmingham and Barnsley both sit just outside the drop zone in the Championship, but they have both shown an improvement in form taking seven and eight points respectively from their previous five games. They have drawn two of their last three meetings with Barnsley winning the other. But this time we think it’s shaping up for another draw.

Sure Draw Prediction This Week

Swansea vs Brighton

Swansea have made a poor start to the new season, while Premier League newcomers Brighton have impressed under Chris Houghton. The Seagulls come into the game in better form, but Swansea’s previous three games were a tough trio of Man Utd, Arsenal and Leicester. They will be keen to get back amongst the points, but Brighton will be full of confidence after taking seven points from their last three.

Wildcard Draw Prediction

West Ham vs Liverpool

Liverpool are the clear favourites at the Olympic stadium, but Slaven Bilic is on thin ice and needs to rouse a response to keep his job. The Hammers will be hoping to bounce back after letting a two goal lead slip at Crystal Palace on Saturday, and will face a Liverpool side who miss Lallana or Sadio Mane through injury. They will probably need a goal or two to clinch a draw, but Klopp’s side have conceded 1.6 goals per game on average this far.
